Prussia 1727-EGN thaler Dav-2577
This specimen was lot 331 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €22,000 (about US$29,652 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH Friedrich Wilhelm I. der Soldatenkönig, 1713-1740. Reichstaler 1727, EGN, Berlin. FRID · WILH · D · G · REX · BORVSSIAE · EL · BRANDENB · Geharnischtes Brustbild r. mit umgelegtem Ordensband//Gekröntes Wappen mit gekröntem Mittelschild, zu den Seiten Palmzweige, zu den Seiten der Krone die Jahreszahl, unten die Signatur E : G : N : (Ernst Georg Neubauer, Münzmeister in Berlin 1725-1749). Von großer Seltenheit. Feine Patina, sehr attraktives, vorzügliches Exemplar. Exemplar der Auktion Frankfurter Münzhandlung 134, Frankfurt/Main 1990, Nr. 224. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William I, the Soldier King, 1713-40, thaler of 1727, Berlin mint. This two year type (1719 and 1727) is very rare as are all Prussian thalers prior to the 1750's.
