Künker sale 264, lot 3794

This specimen was lot 3794 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €9,000 (about US$11,626 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"POMMERN-STETTIN, HERZOGTUM Johann Friedrich, 1569-1600. Dukat 1596 (Jahreszahl im Stempel aus 1594 geändert), Stettin. Geharnischtes Hüftbild r. die Linke am Schwertgriff//Vierfeldiges Wappen, umher Verzierungen. Slg Hahn (Auktion Künker 224) 1059. GOLD. RR Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, duchy of Pomerania-Stettin, John Frederick, 1569-1600, ducat of 1596 over 4, Stettin mint. Obverse: armored half-length bust to right with sword; reverse: quartered arms. Rare, very fine to extremely fine.)"
