Sincona sale 84, lot 321

This specimen was lot 321 in Sincona sale 84 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 950 CHF (about US$1,279 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RUSSIA Russian Empire and Federation, 3/4 Roubles - 5 Zlotych 1836, St. Petersburg Mint, NG. 9 feathers in eagle's tail. 1 rouble according to Petrov. Extremely fine. Lightly cleaned."

This type was struck 1833-41 at Warsaw and St. Petersburg. Five złotych equaled three quarters of a ruble. Russian coinage for Poland ended in 1850 altho the Warsaw mint continued to operate.
