This specimen was lot 21598 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it sold for $960. The catalog description[1] noted, "POLAND. 5 Zlotych, 1831-KG. Warsaw Mint. NGC MS-62. Struck during the November Uprising. A pleasing, well preserved example with a sharp strike, lustrous fields, and a minimum of toning." This issue was struck in 1831 along with 3 grosze, 10 groszy and 2 zlote, while Poland was rebelling against Russian rule. One zloty equaled fifteen kopeks or thirty groszy. Russian coinage for Poland ended in 1850. A czarist 1831-KG five slotych also struck in 1831 (C-116).
