Poland 1820-IB 10 zlotych
This specimen was lot 34160 in Heritage sale 3106 (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $3,480. The catalog description[1] noted, "Poland: Alexander I of Russia 10 Zlotych 1820-IB XF Details (Cleaned) NGC, Warsaw mint. A coveted issue from the period of Russian dominance in Poland offering minor highpoint wear to the bold peripheries and a dove tone which indicates a long ago cleaning. From the GK Collection." This issue was struck 1820-22 while Poland was under Russian rule (1815-1918). Ten złotych equaled one and a half rubles. Russian coinage for Poland ended in 1841 altho the Warsaw mint remained operating until the 1850's.
