Künker sale 352, lot 1382

This specimen was lot 1382 in Künker sale 352 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €2,800 (about US$3,897 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"POLEN, KÖNIGREICH, Alexander I. von Rußland, 1813-1825. 25 Zlotych 1817, IB, Warschau. GOLD. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (kingdom of Poland, Alexander of Russia, 1813-25, twenty-five zlotych of 1817, Warsaw mint. Very fine to extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1817-19 and is rare. Coinage for Poland ceased in 1841 and regular Russian issues introduced.
