This specimen was lot 47377 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "POLAND. 1/3 Talara, 1810-IS. Warsaw Mint. Friedrich August I. PCGS AU-53. KEY DATE." The grand duchy of Warsaw was erected by Napoleon in 1807 out of lands seized from Prussia and Austria. The king of Saxony was made grand duke and he ruled there until Napoleon's collapse in 1814, whereupon the grand duchy was partitioned between Prussia and Russia. Despite the wartime conditions, the grand duke managed to issue this type 1810-14.
