This specimen was lot 41191 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $9,000. The catalog description[1] noted, "POLAND. Ducat, 1791-EB. Warsaw Mint. Stanislaus Augustus. PCGS Genuine--Bent, AU Details. Despite the noted waviness to the planchet, this specimen provides a solid portrait of the king along with pleasing golden-orange coloring and very little actual circulation or handling noted. A charming and exceptionally pleasing overall example. From the Collection of Kazmier Wysocki, former mayor of Hackensack, New Jersey." This type was struck 1780-83 and 1791-95 in limited numbers. Another ducat, KM 210 of 1787-92, shows the king with a different hairstyle. Stanislas August Poniatowski was the last king of independent Poland. By this time, Poland had lost much of her territory, being the victim of Russian, Prussian and Austrian partition.

Recorded mintage: 33,000.

Specification: 28.06 g, 0.833 fine silver, 40 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: Fr-104; KM-196; Kop-2532.
