This specimen was lot 33611 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $156. The catalog description[1] noted, "August III 18 Groszy 1754-EC AU58 NGC, Leipzig mint. Also valued as a Tympf. Light silvery toning with strong underlying luster and just a touch of wear." Elector Frederick August of Saxony was also king of Poland and issues for the two regions bear a strong resemblance. This type is recorded in various subtypes for 1752-56. This piece, also called a tympf, seems to have been worth about one thirteenth of a thaler.
