Poland 1633-II thaler Dav-4326
This specimen was lot 41169 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $3,120. The catalog description[1] noted, "POLAND. Taler, 1633-II. Bromberg Mint. Vladislaus IV. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details. As noted, some minor cleaning is observed, but this impressive crown displays very little in the way of actual handling, with tremendous detail remaining and a rather brilliant, flashy nature across both sides. From the Collection of Kazmier Wysocki, former mayor of Hackensack, New Jersey." The SCWC records this type for 1633-40 and, while not common, as among the more available Polish thalers. Wladyslaw IV, a member of the Swedish Wasa family, ruled Poland 1633-48. The initials "II" stand for Jacob Jacobsen of Emden.
