Sincona sale 11, lot 1865

This specimen was lot 1865 in Sincona sale 11 (Zürich, May 2013), where it sold for 350 CHF (about US$433 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALIEN Piacenza Odoardo Farnese, 1622-1646. Scudo 1628. Min. Schrötlingsf. am Rd. Sehr schön. (duchy of Piacenza, Odoardo Farnese, 1622-1646, scudo of 1628. Rim flaws, very fine.)"

This scarce scudo is noted for 1628-36. The duchy of Piacenza was united with the duchy of Parma in the eighteenth century.
