The specimen shown is a ten pesos of the current circulating series. This piece has a face value (January 2010) of about twenty cents and was first issued in 1995. The obverse portraits are of Mapini and Bonifacio, two heroes of the struggle against the Spanish.

Specification: 8.7 g, aluminum bronze center in copper-nickel ring, 26.5 mm diameter.
