Philippines 1982 10 sentimo

This twenty-five sentimos is from the circulation issue of 1979-82. The currency, which was called pesos and centavos during the American colonial period, was reformed in 1969 and renamed "piso" and "sentimo" which were the Tagalog translations. Locals, however, continue to use the old names. The obverse bust is of poet Francisco Baltazar (1788-1862). He appeared on various issues of the ten sentimos until 1994. The circulation issue was made in Manila while the proofs were struck at the Franklin mint. The denomination is still issued altho inflation has rendered it worthless.
