This type was struck for the Philippines 1907-21. It superseded a larger fifty centavos struck 1903-06. The Philadelphia mint struck this type 1907-08, the San Francisco mint in 1907-09, 1917-19 and Manila in 1920-21 (the 1920-21 issues don't bear the "M" mintmark). This date is common despite being the last issue of fifty centavos until 1944. All were demonetized by the Philippine government in the late 1960's when the currency was reformed.
