The first coin was lot 9496 in Ponterio sale 150 (Los Angeles, August 2009), where it sold for $1,495. The catalog description[1] noted, "PHILIPPINES. Peso, 1906-S. ICG EF-45." The type was struck in San Francisco 1903-06. The other dates are available but this date is the key. In 1907 the size and fineness were reduced and the smaller type was struck 1907-12.
Recorded mintage: 201,000.
Specification: 26.95 g, 0.900 fine silver, .780 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.
