This type was struck for the Philippines at Philadelphia 1903-06. The 1904 is scarce; the common dates are 1903 and 1904-S. In 1907, the size was reduced to 2 grams and issued at Philadelphia and San Francisco 1907-19. The Manila mint struck reduced size ten centavos in 1920-21 (without mintmark), 1929 and 1935. In 1937, with the inauguration of the Commonwealth, the reverse was redesigned. This third type (KM 181) was struck at Manila 1937-41 and at Denver in 1944-45. All were demonetized by the Philippine government in the late 1960's when the currency was reformed.
