This type was struck in Philadelphia and San Francisco for the Philippines 1903-06. A smaller peso of lower fineness was struck in San Francisco 1907-12 (KM 172), after which no silver pesos were struck until the commemorative issues of 1936 (KM 177 and 178). Large size proofs are fairly available, especially for 1903 and 1904; small size proofs exist but are rare. These coins are listed in the Red Book as well as the SCWC and are collected as part of the United States series.
