Pfalz (1399) goldgulden Fr-1971
This specimen was lot 5233 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €4,600 (about US$6,402 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"PFALZ, KURFÜRSTENTUM, Ruprecht III. 1398-1410. Goldgulden o. J. (1399), Neustadt. GOLD. Von großer Seltenheit. Sehr attraktives Exemplar, fast vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion MPO 36, Ijsselstein 2012, Nr. 2804. (Germany, electorate of the Palatinate, Rupert III, 1398-1410, undated goldgulden, Neustadt mint. Extremely rare, very attractive exaple, about extremely fine.)"
This goldgulden was also minted at Bacharach. Altho very scarce, it is the more available of the two gold coins of this ruler.
