Peru 2002 2 soles

This bimetallic two soles has been issued since 1994 in several varieties. A stylized hummingbird, adapted from the Nazca lines, is featured on the reverse. In 1991, the currency was reformed, one nuevo sol = one million intis. Surprisingly enough, the nuevo sol has remained stable against the dollar (US$1 = S/. 2.77, October 2013, US$1 = S/. 3.63, January 2021).

Recorded mintage: 6,000,000.

Specification: 5.58 g, Bi-Metallic Brass center in Steel ring, 22.22 mm diameter.
