This specimen was lot 3771 in Goldberg sale 75 (Los Angeles, September 2013), where it sold for $1,064. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Peru. 50 Soles, 1955. Brilliant Uncirculated." This denomination, struck 1950-69, was theoretically a circulating coin but actually was a bullion piece like her sisters, the gold five, ten, twenty and hundred soles.

Recorded mintage: 1,898.
