Peru 1947 10 centavos

The ten centavos denomination was originally occupied by the silver dinero, struck 1863-1917. It was superseded by a copper-nickel coin in 1918, which was replaced by a brass type in 1942 when World War Two drove up the price of nickel. This sub-type, issued 1947-49, varied from the World War Two issues in having the date in arabic numerals instead of spelled out in Spanish. It is common in all grades. It is accompanied by brass five and twenty centavos.
