Peru 1911-FG dinero

This dinero, the equivalent of a dime, was struck in Lima in 1911. Most issued after 1898 were made from melted down one sol coins. Varieties and overdates abound; for 1911, assayer varieties FG/JF and FG/JG are recorded. A earlier type, with a slightly different figure of seated Liberty, was issued 1863-64. The silver coin was replaced in 1918 by a copper-nickel five centavos.
