This specimen was lot 1394 in Sedwick Auction 36 (Winter Park, FL, November 2024), where it sold for $204. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU, Lima, ¼ real, 1847, NGC MS 63, finest known in NGC census, ex-O'Brien. Lightly rainbow toned over lustrous surfaces that give off a halo effect, scarce date despite what KM says. Pedigreed to the John O'Brien Collection (stated on label), with his tag." This type was struck at Lima 1826-56. The date is listed in the SCWC as slightly scarce along with an 1847/6 overdate.
