This specimen was lot 34618 in Heritage sale 3082 (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $2,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "Peru: Republic gold 8 Escudos 1845 C-A AU58 PCGS, Cuzco mint. Preserved with only minute highpoint rub to the central features and shimmering sun-gold brightness retained over the fields." This type was struck at Cuzco 1835-36, 1839-40 and 1843-45.
