This specimen was lot 75663 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $149. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU. 1/2 Real, 1766/5-LM JM. Lima Mint. Charles III. PCGS Genuine--Environmental Damage, EF Details. Overdate variety. From the Richard August Collection." This type was struck for Charles III 1760-72. It is not rare but many of the dates are very scarce compared to their Mexican equivalents. The SCWC notes this overdate but awards it no premium.
Recorded mintage: unknown but a scarce date.
Specification: 1.69 g, 0.917 fine silver, .050 troy oz AGW.
