This specimen was lot 924 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $180. The catalog description[1] noted, "PASSAU: Wiguleus Fröschl, 1500-1517, AR batzen, 1516, 4-fold arms of Passau with 2 frogs and date above with +WIGILEVS EPS PATAVIENS around // St. Stephen standing behind Passau arms with SVB TVO - PRESIDI around, spot removed, still very attractive with nice strike and luster, PCGS graded AU details." One thaler = 15 batzen; this batzen was struck 1513-17. The bishopric of Passau was annexed to Bavaria in 1803 and 1805.
