Steve Album sale 54, lot 3306

This specimen was lot 3306 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $90. The catalog description[1] noted, "PARAGUAY: Republic, AR guarani, 1997, Encuentro de Dos Mundos, mintage of only 6,000 pieces, scarce, PCGS graded Proof 69 DCAM." This was struck in Madrid depicting the Paraguayan bottle dance. It is from the third series of Ibero-American NCLT's, titled "Dances and customs". The collecting community had lost interest by the time this series was sold and today it sells for its bullion value. As of March 2026, US$1 = 6,540 guaranies.

Recorded mintage: 6,000.

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.925 fine silver, 40 mm diameter, reeded edge.
