This specimen was lot 39022 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. Papal (States of the Church). 1/2 Baiocco, 1851-B Year IV. Bolo[gn]a Mint. Pius IX. PCGS MS-64+ Brown." This type was struck 1850-52 at Rome and Bologna. The regnal date on this example is "VI", not "IV". The denomination was terminated in 1852.

Recorded mintage: 1,257,000 (year V and VI).

Specification: 5 g, copper, 23.5 mm diameter, plain edge.
