Stack's Bowers 2025 NYINC sale, lot 39021

This specimen was lot 39021 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $85. The catalog description^[1] noted, "ITALY. Papal (States of the Church). 1/2 Baiocco, 1849-R Year IIII. Rome Mint. Pius IX. PCGS MS-64 Brown." This type was struck at Bologna and Rome 1847-49. The denomination was terminated in 1852.
