This bi-metallic coin was issued in 2011. It was struck for Panama by the Royal Canadian Mint in Winnipeg. A modified version, with ten stars above the coat of arms, was struck 2017-19.

Recorded mintage: 40,000,000.

Specification: 7.2 g, bi-metallic (nickel brass plated steel center in nickel plated steel ring), 26.5 mm diameter, segmented reeded edge lettered PANAMA 1 BALBOA.
