This specimen was lot 73476 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $125. The catalog description[1] noted, "PANAMA. Balboa, "1973" (1974). San Francisco Mint. PCGS PROOF-69 Deep Cameo. On the cusp of perfection, this stunner offers an intense cameo nature." This type was introduced in 1966 but rising silver prices prevented its circulation. Later issues of 1967-74 were struck at the San Francisco mint for sale to collectors.

Recorded mintage: 30,161 proofs.

Specification: 26.73 g, 0.900 fine silver, 38.1 mm diameter.
