This specimen was issued by Panama in 1973 and 1975 as part of the F.A.O. series. This was the first use of this denomination since 1940 and would be used sporadically for various collector coins until 1985, when the Franklin Mint abandoned coinage production.

Recorded mintage: 2,000,000.

Specification: copper-nickel clad copper, 15 mm diameter, designed by Frank Gasparro.
