This specimen was lot 3157 in Steve Album Auction 52 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $78. The catalog description[1] noted, "PAKISTAN: Dominion, AR rupee, 1948, a fantastic reflective mint state example! PCGS graded MS66." This type was struck for the new government of Pakistan 1948-49, probably at the Lahore mint. It was issued prior to the decimal reform and one rupee = 192 pice. The mintage seems inadequate for a country of 34 million people in 1951 (241 million people in 2017).
Recorded mintage: 46,200,000.
Specification: 11.5 g, nickel, 28 mm diameter, reeded edge.
Catalog reference: KM-7.
