The first specimen was lot 1251 in Jean Elsen sale 115 (Brussels, December 2012) where it sold for €340 (about US$519 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"NEDERLAND, OVERIJSSEL, De Staten in opstand, AR Bourgondische rijksdaalder, 1590, Met titel van Philips II. Droit: Bourgondisch kruis. Revers: Gekroond wapenschild, omringd door de keten van het Gulden Vlies. Zeldzaam. Vlekjes kopergroen op kz. Mooie patina. Ex HSA 6966. Zeer Fraai à Prachtig. (Province of Overijssel, burgundian rixdollar of 1590, in the name of Philip II; obverse: Burgundian cross; reverse: crowned arms, Order of the Golden Fleece around. Rare, some verdigris, nice patina, very fine to extremely fine.)"

The second specimen was lot 414 in Áureo y Calicó sale 345 (Barcelona, March 2020), where it sold for €260 (about US$343 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"1590. Felipe II. Hasselt. 1 escudo borgoña. Buen ejemplar. Ex Colección Rocaberti, Áureo 19/05/1992, nº 343. Ex Colección Balsach. MBC+. (Philip II, Burgundian daalder of 1590, Hasselt mint. Nice example, choice very fine.)"

This type was struck 1584-86 and 1590-92 in the name of Philip II of Spain, whose control over the United Provinces ceased in 1581. Several other provinces struck Bourgondische rijksdaalders, including Gelderland, Zeeland and Holland. Overijssel went on to issue many coins as part of the independent Netherlands until the time of Napoleon.
