Sincona sale 43, lot 2963

This specimen was lot 2963 in Sincona sale 43 (Zürich, October 2017), where it sold for 500 CHF (aboout US$597 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA | Olmütz, Bistum, Jakob Ernst Graf von Liechtenstein-Castelcorn, 1738-1745 Taler 1742. Fast vorzüglich. Hübsche Patina. (About extremely fine, Attractive patina.)"

This type was struck 1742-45 and is among the more available thalers from this Moravian ecclesiastical state. Dav-1229 also exists for 1742.

Specification: 28.06 g, 0.833 fine silver, this specimen 29.10 g.
