Sincona sale 101, lot 3521

This specimen was lot 3521 in Sincona Auction 101 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 850 CHF (about US$1,281 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RDR / ÖSTERREICH Olmütz, Bistum, Wolfgang von Schrattenbach, 1711-1738. 1/2 Taler 1727, Kremsier. Fast vorzüglich. Hübsche Patina. (Austria, bishopric of Olmütz, Wolfgang von Schrattenbach, 1711-38, half thaler of 1727, Kremsier mint. About Extremely Fine, Attractively toned.)"

This type was struck 1727-37 and is the most available half thaler from this locale. A similar thaler (Dav-1219) also exists. This example realized eight times the catalog value.
