Sincona sale 101, lot 3514

This specimen was lot 3514 in Sincona Auction 101 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$377 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RDR / ÖSTERREICH Olmütz, Bistum, Wolfgang von Schrattenbach, 1711-1738. 15 Kreuzer 1716, Kremsier. Walzenprägung. Seltener Jahrgang. Fast vorzüglich. (Austria, bishopric of Olmütz, Wolfgang von Schrattenbach, 1711-38, fifteen kreuzer of 1716, Kremsier mint. Rotated reverse, rare date, About Extremely Fine.)"

This type was struck 1712-16 and represents the last issue of this denomination, which was minted extensively in the seventeenth century. Fifteen kreuzer was one-sixth of a reichs thaler. Olmütz, then in Moravia, is now Olomuoc in the Czech Republic.
