Künker sale 294, lot 4104

This specimen was lot 4104 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €4,000 (about US$5,391 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"REICHSGOLDMÜNZEN, OLDENBURG, Nicolaus Friedrich Peter, 1853-1900. 10 Mark 1874. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (unified gold coinage, grand duchy of Oldenburg, Nicholas Frederick Peter, 1853-1900, ten mark of 1874. Very fine to extremely fine.)"

This rare type is the only gold issue of this windswept state under the Wilhelmine empire.

Recorded mintage: 15,000 + proofs.

Specification: 3.98 g, 0.900 fine gold, .115 troy oz AGW.
