This specimen was lot 2714 in Sincona sale 26 (Zürich, October 2015), where it sold for 1,700 CHF (about US$2,100 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Nurnberg, Dukat 1640. Vorzüglich. (Germany, city of Nurnberg, ducat of 1640, extremely fine.)"
This issue closely resembles a similar ducat of the same year (Fr-1826) but has a different figure supporting the arms on the reverse.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 3.5 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 3.45 g.
