This specimen was lot 4873 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €22,000 (about US$28,789 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH. DIE ÖSTERREICHISCHEN STANDESHERREN, NOSTITZ-RIENECK, Anton Johann, 1683-1736. Reichstaler 1719, Nürnberg. Sehr selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar. Hübsche Patina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Holy Roman Empire, counts of Nostitz-Rieneck, Anthony John, 1683-1736, thaler of 1719, Nuremberg mint. Very rare in this condition, cabinet piece, handsome patina, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
The counts of Nostitz-Reineck were not territorial lords but received the mint right from the emperor for services rendered. Reineck, their seat, was purchased from the archbishop of Mainz but most of the count's career would have been spent at Vienna or with the emperor. The SCWC also notes a half thaler and a ducat.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: silver, this specimen 29.30 g.
