Stack's Bowers 2015 NYINC sale, lot 1335
Norway Stacks Jan15-1335r.jpg

This specimen was lot 1335 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY. 1,500 Kroner, 1991. NGC PROOF-68 ULTRA CAMEO. Struck to commemorate the 1994 winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. Olav V left; Reverse: Ancient skier rock drawing." Norway has not indulged in issuing the swarms of Olympic commemoratives as other countries have but, proud of inventing skiing, issued this one based on an old petroglyph.

Recorded mintage: 20,960 proofs.

Specification: 16.96 g, 0.917 fine gold, .497 troy oz AGW.

Catalog reference: Fr-21; KM-435.
