This specimen was lot 34244 in Heritage sale 3098 (New York, January 2022), where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "Norway: Oscar II 2 Kroner 1890 MS65 NGC, Kongsberg mint. Sculptured argent devices, occupied by cartwheel luster and peach toning. A high-grade gem, with none finer certified by NGC or PCGS." In 1907, Norway obtained a divorce from Sweden and became an independent kingdom under a Danish prince. Even before passing under Swedish rule in 1814, Norway had enjoyed a separate coinage from Denmark. The specimen shown here is from of a type struck 1877-1904 and was accompanied by a silver fifty øre and one krone of similar design. Many dates are very scarce.
