Sincona sale 50, lot 1141

This specimen was lot 1141 in Sincona sale 50 (Zürich, October 2018), where it sold for 10,000 CHF (about US$12,062 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Christian V. 1670-1699. Speciedaler 1692, Kongsberg. Ausbeute. Mit Randschrift: (Hammer und Schlägel) DANNER KONGIS NORDSKE FIELDE SLIGE FRUGTER HAR I VÆLDE. Sehr selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Winziger Schrötlingsfehler. Vorzüglich-FDC. (kingdom of Norway, Christian V, 1670-99, specie daler of 1692, Kongsberg mint. For the mines, lettered edge. Very rare, especially in this condition, Tiny flan defect, Extremely fine-uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1692-93 in many varieties but all are rare.
