This specimen was lot 34436 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2024), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "NICARAGUA. 100 Cordobas, 1975. Llantrisant Mint. GEM PROOF. Commemorating the 200th anniversary of the United States, this piece features Betsy Ross creating the stars and stripes as well as the moon landing." Another 100 cordobas (KM 36) issued in 1975 honored the help sent by many countries after the Managua earthquake of 1972.
Recorded mintage: 4,682 plus 3,500 proofs (including KM 36).
Specification: 25.14 g, 0.925 fine silver, 0.747 troy oz ASW.
