This type of 1953 is common. No more half crowns were struck until 1961, when the queen's bust was modified to make the shoulder fold of her dress more prominent. The coinage was decimalized in 1967.

Recorded mintage: 120,000 plus 7,000 proofs.

Specification: 14.14 g, copper-nickel, 32 mm diameter, designed by Mary Gillick and G. E. Kruger-Gray.
