New Hebrides 1979 500 francs
The first specimen was lot 47396 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $528. The catalog description[1] noted, "NEW HEBRIDES. Silver 500 Francs, 1979. Venezuela (Italcambio) Mint. PCGS PROOF-67 Deep Cameo. Year of the Child issue." The second specimen was lot 47397 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "NEW HEBRIDES. Nickel-Brass 500 Francs, 1979. Venezuela (Italcambio) Mint. PCGS PROOF-68 Cameo. Mintage: 100. Year of the Child issue." This NCLT seems to have been struck in a variety of metals but was never approved for production, which is likely why it is consigned to the Unusual World Coins. New Hebrides is now the country of Vanuatu.
