Künker sale 353, lot 3934

This specimen was lot 3934 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €1,400 (about US$1,948 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich Wilhelm II. 1786-1797. 28 Kreuzer 1793, Neuenburg (Neuchâtel). Prägung für das Fürstentum Neuenburg. Äußerst selten in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar. Fast Stempelglanz. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William II, 1786-97, 28 kreuzer of 1793, Neuchatel mint, struck for the principality of Neuchatel. Very rare in this quality, choice example, about uncirculated.)"

This type, like most issues from this small part of Switzerland, is rare. It was also struck in 1796. Twenty-eight kreuzer = seven batzen.
