Steve Album sale 51, lot 3784

This specimen was lot 3784 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS EAST INDIES: William III, 1849-1890, AR 1/20 gulden, 1855, a lovely mint state example! PCGS graded MS63." This type was struck at Utrecht 1854-55; the 1854 is rare. The denomination was abandoned after this issue and not struck again.

Recorded mintage: 492,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 0.61 g, 0.720 fine silver, 13 mm diameter.
