In 1794, the Dutch Republic was snuffed out by invading forces of the French Revolution. The East India Company was in an advanced state of decay and was abolished in 1799. The Low Countries did not regain their independence until 1815, with the formation of the kingdom of the Netherlands. Westfriesland issued this type 1729-37, 1743-56 and 1764-94. Other provincial duits struck for the East Indies include KM 70, 132, 134, 136 (Westfriesland), KM 150, 152.1, 159 (Zeeland), KM 111 (Utrecht) and KM 50 (Gelderland).
