This specimen was lot 336 in Schulman auction 385 (Amsterdam, July 2025), where it sold for €220 (about US$311 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"PROVINCIALE MUNTEN - 1/2 Zilveren duit 1758, Silver, Holland Gekroond provinciewapen. Kz. . ✿ . / VOC / jaartal. Kabelrand. Prachtig. (provincial coinage, half silver duit of 1758, Holland mint. Obverse: crowned provincial arms; reverse: "VOC" and date; cabled edge. Extremely fine.)"

This type was struck by Utrecht (KM 112) and Holland in 1758 in copper, gold and silver. Only the copper issues were intended to circulate. The Holland mint struck copper half duits 1749-54 and 1769-70, silver half duits 1755-63 and gold half duits 1750 and 1755-63, making this date available in silver and gold only. Westfriesland (KM 137) and Gelderland (KM 55a) also participated but not in 1758.

Specification: KM 72a: 1.38 g, silver, 17.5 mm diameter, this specimen 1.51 g.
